Lightning-Shortened Football Game to be Resumed Friday

New Brunswick, NJ- The South Plainfield Tigers lead the New Brunswick Zebras 13-7 after one quarter of play. The game was halted at the start of the second quarter due to lightning. The football game will resume today at 4:00pm in New Brunswick.
The Tigers received the opening kickoff and used the hurry up offense to march down the field and score. Running back Roemello Monroe scored just 1.06 into the first quarter to put the Tigers up 7-0. The Zebras then fumbled their first snap from scrimmage, and the Tigers recovered the ball at New Brunswick’s 19 yard-line. The very next play Quarterback Kyle Moroney threw a perfect pass to Kyle Dickerson for a 19 yard scoring strike. The Tigers missed the extra point, but led 13-0 less than two minutes into the game.
The Zebras touchdown came midway through the first quarter. The Zebras took over on the Tigers 21 yard-line after a botched punt. On third and long the Zebras completed a screen pass that led to scamper into the Tiger end-zone.
Today’s game starts with the Tigers driving into Zebra territory. The Tigers are first and 10 at the Zebras 45 yard-line.
