Library Museum Pass

Thursday, February 28, 2013 • 4:58pm

SCOTCH PLAINS, FANWOOD - The Fanwood Memorial Library and the Scotch Plains Public Library are proud to announce the two very exciting additions to their very popular joint initiative MUSEUM PASS. Co-sponsored by the Friends groups of both libraries, MUSEUM PASS lets cardholders and Friends of both libraries visit area museums for free or at a greatly reduced cost.

New passes have been secured, and are now available, for the amazing family destinations of Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ and Imagine That!!!, a children’s playspace and museum in Florham Park, NJ. These two museums join a long list of other museums available through the program. All the details can be found online at www.thejointlibrary.org/museumpass, including the participating museums, the rules for borrowing and details on some of the museums’ reciprocal partnerships which extend the value of the passes.

Other available museums include Adventure Aquarium (Camden), American Museum of Natural History (NYC), Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum (NYC), The Frick Collection (NYC), the Guggenheim Museum (NYC), Liberty Hall Museum (Union), the Montclair (NJ) Art Museum, Morris Museum (Morristown), the Museum of the City of New York and the South Street Seaport Musuem, New Jersey Children’s Museum (Paramus, NJ), New York Historical Society and The Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms (Parsippany-Troy Hills, NJ).

Passes (or deeply discounted tickets) are available to Fanwood and Scotch Plains cardholders and members of both Friends groups for all of the above museums. They can be picked up at the circulation desk of the Scotch Plains Library on a first-come first-served basis. Discounted tickets are available for the Adventure Aquarium, American Museum of Natural History and the NJ Children’s Museum. Passes for all the other museums will circulate for three days.

MUSEUM PASS is an example of how the two libraries work together to provide much more for all the residents of both communities than either can do on their own. For more information, visit the MUSEUMPASS website at: www.thejointlibrary.org/museumpass or contact the Fanwood Memorial Library at 908.322.6400 or the Scotch Plains Public Library at 908.322.5007 or visit online at www.fanwoodlibrary.org or www.scotlib.org.
