LIVINGSTON, NJ - Recently, Livingston High School student Alexa Altchek was honored with the Wendy’s Heisman Award for Livingston High School. The award recognizes the senior’s success on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
Altchek has been accepted into Harvard University, where she plans to study biology and play for the Harvard Crimson.
She is a member of the National, Spanish and Science honor societies, and played on last season’s championship softball team, which took conference, county and state sectionals titles.
Altchek said the challenge of balancing her high-level academic classes and practices was "hard, but also rewarding. I’m glad I did it that way.”
Livingston has one of the best school systems in New Jersey; it raises up Governors, Playwrights, Actors, Artists, Doctors, Lawyers…or to put it plainly… Superstars! But before they became successful grownups, they did extraordinary things as kids.
Read on to learn about the exceptional things our Livingston children are doing these days.
