As liaison to the board of education I was saddened to hear that Dr. Genco has decided to move on to Jackson. I had the opportunity to work closely with him and the BOE liaison to the council, Debbie Boyle. We were able to make great strides together and developed a very close working relationship. The one thing I truly admire about him is that he always listened. We may not have always agreed, but at least he took the time to talk and discuss various options to problems brought forward. I know he worked closely with borough Administrator Glenn Cullen, Chief Parker on security and traffic issues, and Bobby Capperelli at DPW making sure the schools were accessible this past winter. When egos are put aside, good things can happen. The problems never ceased, they just changed, and all involved worked together for the benefit of everyone.I wish Dr. Genco the very best in his new venture and hope his replacement will be as cooperative as he has been.
