NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ - Borough Councilman Alan Lesnewich has been named a New Jersey Superior Court judge.

"On behalf of the New Providence Republican Committee (NPRC), and of all of New Providence, congratulations and best wishes to Alan and his family on this new honorable vocation," said Al Morgan, NPRC chairman. "Alan is a good, honest, and decent man, who brings a breadth of knowledge, experience, patience, conviction, and dedication to this very honorable position, and we can not be more happy, proud, and excited for him. Best of luck Alan!"

Lesnewich's appointment means he will be vacating his borough council seat. Under the state law, the NPRC will screen candidates and present the council with three potential candidates to fulfill his unexpired term.

A date for the screening will be set in April and announced shortly, Morgan said. Anyone interested in screening for Lesnewich's vacated unexpired council seat should contact Morgan at (908) 403-8613 immediately.  Screening candidates should be a registered Republican, residing in New Providence, in good civil standing, and should prepare a short bio, and a resume highlighting their community services, contributions, and involvements, along with references.
