WEST ORANGE, NJ - The 34th Annual Lefty Boland Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, June 23 at the prestigious Rock Spring Club in West Orange. This anticipated event includes lunch, dinner, golf, a cocktail hour and a buffet dinner.
The Lefty Boland Tournament raises money for special needs classrooms in the West Orange School district and helps to purchase technology items like kindles, IPads, and laptops. Over the past two years nearly fifteen classrooms have been awarded grants and this year the requests for grants have been overwhelming.
Residents, organizations and businesses can help in several ways. The tournament still has some openings for golfers and businesses and organizations can help to sponsor the event. This year's Boland Tournament is comprised of Volunteer Committee members Bill Kehoe (Director); Nick Allegrino, Bill Boland (Lefty's son), John Buoye, Ed Coleman, Kevin Dillon, Frank "Bo" Ench, Joe Fonzino, Nick Galante, Edwin Johnson, Marty Kale, Joe Pelose, Jim Quinn, Danny Tobia , Robert C. Williams, and Chair Bill Kehoe.
A complete packet of materials including registration forms is available on the West Orange Rec website at http://www.westorange.org/DocumentCenter/View/1447.
The Lefty Boland Golf Tournament is named after William "Lefty" Boland, long time Director of the West Orange Recreation Department, whose career spanned five decades. A long time supporter of West Orange families, Boland is beloved in the West Orange Community. Educators apply for grants for their special needs classrooms and monies raised from the tournament go directly to them.
