CHATHAM, NJ - When Jason Izsa said that the selection of his starting quarterback was going to be a "game-time decision," he wasn't kidding.
Chatham's new head football coach waited until 1:45 p.m. on Thursday to tell senior Sean Landofli that he will get the start over sophomore Alex Sands for the 4 p.m. kickoff at Cougar Field against visiting Montville.
Landolfi will run the first series of the game for Chatham, which is unveiling its new Delaware Wing T offense. Sands, however, will be waiting in the wings and is likely to get his chance to call the quarterback signals as well, according to Izsa.
Chatham's old offense - the triple option - will be run by the opposition, led by last year's Chatham head coach, Don Morgenroth. In his four years, Morgenroth guided the Cougars into the playoffs twice. But Chatham was 0-10 last year and has lost 11 straight, dating back to 2011.
