LAN Associates Wins Contract to Rebuild James Monroe School of Edison

EDISON, NJ – After hours of extensive discussions The Edison Township Board of Education selected LAN Associates to provide professional architectural services to design and rebuild the James Monroe Elementary School on the 7 Sharp Road, Edison, NJ site.
Several qualified companies submitted bids to the Request for Proposal posted by Edison Township Board of Education in April 2014. Two highly qualified firms, LAN Associates and FKA Architects were selected as finalists.
BOE members unanimously selected LAN Associates to rebuild the James Monroe Elementary School based on their extensive qualifications and experience.
“We are very excited to finally begin the rebuilding of James Monroe,” said Veena Iyer, Board President. “We have lots of work ahead of us.”
LAN Associates is a full service, engineering, planning, architecture, and surveying firm founded in 1965. We service a variety of federal, state, county, and municipal governments, housing authorities, boards of education, Fortune 500 companies, foreign companies, religious facilities, and private clients.
“We are ready to start the work,” said Kenneth Karle, President of LAN.
James Monroe Elementary School in Edison was destroyed due to fire on March 22, 2014, and demolition is nearly complete.
Students are finishing out the year in temporary classrooms provided by Middlesex County College and will relocate to St. Cecelia's in Iselin under a 2 year lease agreement while rebuilding of the school is underway.
The two time capsules that were buried in 1989 and 2000 have yet to be recovered.
