SUMMIT, NJ - A "newly inspired" Kings Food Market, providing a modern update to the original Kings opened 75 years ago in Summit, has debuted.

Officially opened by Kings Summit store manager Ken Rizzie -- with help from members of his team and Summit Mayor Ellen Dickson -- via a ceremonial pasta ribbon cutting, Kings Summit features a newly remodeled exterior and interior, including an expanded deli, an enhanced selection of prepared foods and gourmet cheeses, more than 245 organic produce items, a new liquor sales area, new flooring, lighting, and an outdoor patio.  The update coincides with a new Kings brand initiative, which carries the phrase "Kings, Where Inspiration Strikes" and, according to Kings Food Markets President and CEO Judy Spires, is a key part of amplifying an already strong brand.

"We are expanding the locations where we can, modernizing to meet the needs of our consumer, " said Spires.  "The changes in Summit took one year to complete, and we stayed open the entire time.  We are very proud of the results, but we are even more proud of our team here in Summit because, ultimately, our people are the heart of our store."

As part of the the unveiling of the refreshed store and Kings "Act Against Hunger" initiative, Kings made a $1,000 contribution to St. Teresa's Loaves & Fishes, a local non-profit committed to ending hunger in the Summit area.  Mayor Dickson praised Kings for "continuing the proud tradition and re-investing in Summit."  Kings is located at 784 Springfield Avenue.
