FANWOOD, NJ - At the Fanwood Borough Council Meeting last week, K-9 Resorts was named as the first Business Volunteers of the Month. Co-owners Jason and Steven Parker were presented with a framed drawing of the Fanwood Train Station.
“We think its important to take a moment to shine a light on residents and business owners that go above and beyond what it means to live in Fanwood," said Mayor Colleen Mahr.
In 2005 Jason and Steve bought a commercial building at 43 South Avenue in Fanwood and had it custom engineered and constructed, making it one of the finest pet care facilities in the nation. K-9 Resorts was voted the #1 Pet Service in New Jersey by both New Jersey Monthly Magazine and The Courier News.
In spite of the intense time commitments that growing a business requires, Jason and Steven Parker were the co-chairmen of the Fanny Wood Day Committee, and they have been proud supporters of many other fundraisers that benefit the community.
Steven Parker told The Alternative Press that they “feel it’s a real honor to be awarded the first Business Volunteers of the Month award. We are delighted to be Fanwoodians, though we live in Scotch Plains. Having such a successful business in Fanwood has enabled us to franchise K-9 Resorts. We are the youngest owners of a franchise and we are closing on our seventh deal.”
