Since 1965, the world has enjoyed the singing, bass playing and song writing talents of John Wetton, in an array of chart-topping groups as Roxy Music, King Crimson and the British rock supergroup, Asia.

On Saturday, February 23rd, 4pm, John will jam with future rock stars at the School of Rock in Chatham, NJ.   Students from the School, as well as the public, are invited to come and learn from this legendary progressive rocker.  John will share his insights into the evolution of the music business as well as life on the road as a touring musician.  Those in attendance will be treated to a performance by John and some very talented and excited School of Rock students.  There will also be an autograph and photo session.

Saturday afternoon’s workshop is part of the School of Rock’s commitment to develop and nurture the next generation of rockers.  By “Inspiring the World To Rock On Stage and In Life,” School of Rock transforms the lives of kids and adults through music.  The Chatham, NJ School of Rock’s performance-based music school offers lessons in guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, vocals, harmonica, saxophone, flute, trumpet, and trombone.  Students learn by playing real music, not repetitive drills. Genres of music studied include Rock, Pop, Reggae, Motown, Blues, Metal, etc.  The school offers individual lessons and performance classes, group practices for beginners and intermediate students, show rehearsals leading to seasonal rock concert performances, as well as summer camps and workshops, like this. There is even a “Graduate Program” for those who are anywhere above 18 and still have that inner rock star and love of the limelight.

The School of Rock music programs are designed to create a unique, positive experience where music students of all skill levels are comfortable yet challenged. In addition to individual private music instruction, students also learn how to jam with their peers in weekly practice sessions.

The team dynamic creates a supportive and motivating environment where kids feel inspired to excel and, eventually, progress to show rehearsals working toward the goal of performing together as a rock band in front of live audiences on area stages.

This event is open to the public.  Admission $10.  Media are welcome.
