WEST ORANGE, NJ - New Jersey Arts Incubator at OSPAC Executive Director Susan Anderson announced on March 11 that Jim Luce has been named the Creative Producer for the 2014 music season.

Luce is a veteran music project producer who has distributed broadcast projects worldwide and is currently the Artistic Director of the Caramoor Jazz Festival in Katonah, New York. Luce is a Grammy-nominated producer and Peabody Award-winning radio producer for jazz radio station WBGO in Newark.

Luce said, "Live music has been a vital part of the human spiritual experience since the hand first hit the drum,” says Luce.  “To be a musician of the world stage, it takes raw talent, determination, inspiration, decades of practice, setbacks and more determination, wisdom and attitude and an ability to transmit emotion and beauty. I had that in mind when we conceived the festival of world music we’ve prepared for NJAI@OSPAC 2014. This Summer, NJAI@OSPAC promises a choice selection of masters from the worlds of jazz, pop, classical, Indian classical and new music - accompanied by a parade of delicious food options."

The 2014 summer season at NJAI@OSPAC, located off Boland Drive in West Orange, will feature Saturday night performances by jazz, blues and classical musicians, including piano talent Taka Kigawa on July 5, guitar virtuoso Lionel Loueke on July 19, and Adam Rudolph’s Moving Pictures on August 16.

The Eleventh Annual OSPAC Jazz Festival will also return on September 1.  Luce will produce the festival, which will include special performances by Samadhi on August 30, and the Mulgrew Miller Piano Festival on August 31.

The Summer Solstice Festival and pre-school ArtsPlay educational program will return, along with a new Renaissance Festival.
