WATCHUNG, NJ- On Saturday, July 12, the Watchung Arts Center will present a special summer jazz concert. Music lovers will enjoy the beautiful voice of Danisa Fagan and the fluid guitar of Dr. Rojo (Pablo Maitia) performing an eclectic mix of jazz, tango, Bossa Nova, French and English standards. Danisa Fagan began singing at age of 11 and discovered a passion for voice and music defining her life. The great Billie Holiday is her inspiration. Holiday left an indelible stamp on Danisa’s style. Danisa is a uniquely original singer, with a voice that is wonderfully captivating. Her singing is both serious and whimsical, soulful and jazzy. She raises her voice singing in Spanish, English and French. Her music ranges from jazz to reggae, bossa nova to tango, boleros to French standards.
Pablo Esteban Maitia is a man of many talents, a visionary with eclectic tastes. He is a musician, an artist, a teacher, a composer, a luthier. He is at home playing acoustic, electric and Spanish guitars, and banjo. As a luthier, he experiments with alternative materials and recyclables to create non-traditional musical instruments for children and adults. Beyond music, he is an Art Educator at all levels, from primary to secondary school.
