J.P. Stevens High School Pitch Perfect Performance at the Heritage Music Festival

EDISON, NJ – Students from the J.P. Stevens High School Choir and Orchestra traveled to Williamsburg, VA, and participated in the Heritage Music Festival and received numerous awards.

First place awards were earned by the Concert Orchestra, Chamber Choir and the A Cappella Choir.

The Adjudicator’s Awards were presented to the Chamber Choir and the A Cappella Choir for earning top choral scores. The Concert Orchestra was also a recipient of the Adjudicator’s Award.  

Gold ratings were bestowed upon Chamber and the A Cappella Choirs along with both performing orchestras for their performances.

The Instrumental Sweepstakes Award for earning the top score for two combined ensembles was awarded to the orchestra

The choir was awarded the Choral Sweepstakes Award for the top two combined choral scores. Also, the Chamber Choir earned the Outstanding Choir Award for the top score of all choral groups at the festival.

Brianna Tang received an individual award from the festival adjudicators, known as the Maestro Award, for her excellent skill in accompanying the choir.

The combined performances and scores of the Choirs and Orchestras earned J.P. Stevens the distinction for the top music program competing in the festival, the Sweepstakes for Total Program.
