BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Upcoming Community Events:

Saturday, Aug. 24 –  Yogocinno’s First Anniversary Celebration with events all day long.  Wake up to half-price pancakes served from 7 to 11 a.m.; Game Truck and Face Painting from noon to 2 p.m.; $1 Yogurt Special with $1 Toppings from 3 to 5 p.m.;  ending the day with live music by Zodiac from 5 to 6 p.m. Yogoccino is located at 442 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights.

Friday, Sept. 6 - Second  Annual Berkeley Heights Fire Department All U-Can Eat Spaghetti Dinner from 6 to 9 p.m.  Eat in or take out, BYOB. Tickets available at the door. (Pre-sale is recommended by calling 908-464-0800.)  Cost: Adults $15, Children (Under 8) $7, Senior Citizens $10. Proceeds benefit the Berkeley Heights Volunteer Fire Company #1.  Fire House is located at 411 Hamilton Ave., Berkeley Heights.

Saturday, Sept.14 - VFW Post 6259 Berkeley Heights Township BBQ from 1 to 7 p.m. (rain date, Sept. 15) Festivities include Pig Roast, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Bratwurst, Chicken, Corn on the Cob, Beer Tent, Horseshoe Tournament, Children’s Activities, Sponsored Door Prizes.  Cost: Adults $25, Youth (8-14 yrs.) $10, Children (under 8 yrs.) Free. Proceeds benefit the “Relief Fund” and a future yearly college scholarship to Governor Livingston High School. BBQ will be held behind the First Aid Squad located at 15 Locust Avenue, Berkeley Heights.

Sunday, Sept. 22 -  17th Annual Berkeley Heights 5K Charity Road Race and Fitness Walk at 9:30 a.m. at Memorial Park in Berkeley Heights presented by Smith Chiropractic. An exciting morning is planned for friendly competition, family fun, and a sea of community support. The Berkeley Heights 5K is sanctioned by the USA Track and Field Association and is a 500-point race in the New Balance New Jersey Grand Prix Series.  Free Tot Trot and Fun Runs for children ages 2-11 round out the day with over 150 smiling children dashing across Memorial Field.  Early registration by 9/12 guarantees a race T-shirt.  For more information on the run and charitable recipients please visit  www.berkeleyheights5k.com.  A Red Cross Blood Drive is also being sponsored the day of the race from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Berkeley Heights Community Center, 29 Park Avenue (directly across from Memorial Field).
