WEST ORANGE, NJ – Livingston-based Investors Bank employees revisited the Turtle Back Zoo, located in West Orange, for their second year in a row to sanitize and add flowers to the prehistoric playground they built at the zoo a year ago.

Ronnie Sevilla, branch manager and assistant vice president of Investors Bank, brought his fellow co-workers to the zoo for a day of giving back and some excitement. With 25 volunteers, they completed in one day what would have taken Zoo staff two days; planting over 220 plants and five trees into the prehistoric park, which serves more than 150,000 students.

They cleaned up the “children’s most enjoyed place of the zoo,” said Niki Manahan of Investors Bank. “They just love it.”

The playground is open to all children and families and is handicap accessible. It also includes several slides, a jungle-like playground and life-size fossil puzzle activities.

Investors Bank employees expressed their enjoyment of being at the Turtle Back Zoo to give back and many reminisced on how it was and how excited they were to be a part of the changes being made.

“It’s like hot cakes when it comes to volunteering because we just love it,” said Manahan.

Co-worker David Hedgeman, who also returned for a second year, agreed saying, “it’s great giving back."
