In Westfield, Car Theft, Burglaries and Stolen Halloween Decorations

October 20, 2013 2:38 p.m.
Tiffany Jenkins, 31, of Plainfield responded to Westfield Police Headquarters to surrender herself. Jenkins was arrested on the strength of one outstanding warrant issued by the Westfield Municipal Court (#E13 20185, $178.00 bail). Jenkins was processed and released after posting bail.
October 21, 2013 2:53 p.m.
A gray “Freestyle” wallet was turned into the Westfield Police Department by a town resident after it was located on the sidewalk of Standish Avenue. Attempts to contact the wallet’s owner were unsuccessful. The wallet was secured for safekeeping.

Johnny Ayaviri, 32, of Clifton was arrested for one outstanding ATS warrant issued by the Garwood Municipal Court (D 25377, $89.00 bail). Mr. Ayaviri was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters for arrest processing without incident. He was released after posting the requisite $89.00 bail.

Roche Landolf, 27, of Roselle was arrested on four outstanding criminal warrants pursuant to a prisoner pick-up at Monmouth County Jail. The criminal warrants were issued out of Westfield Municipal Court ($1,486.00), Newark Municipal Court ($1,000.00), Roselle Municipal Court ($750.00) and Elizabeth Municipal Court ($250.00). Landolf was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters, processed and placed into cell #1, in lieu of posted bail.

A resident of the 300 block of Livingston Avenue reported the theft of two items from his rear yard. One item was described as a base to a drafting table and the second item as a railroad base with a chisel point. Both items were suspected to have been stolen during the week of October 13, 2013. A suspicious black Honda was reported in the area by neighbors. There are no other suspects at this time.
October 24, 2013 9:25 a.m.
A resident in the 1700 block of Florida Street reported a theft of Halloween decorations. The items were valued at $75 and there are no suspect(s) at this time.
October 24, 2013 9:59 a.m.
An employee of a local business in the 50 block of Cardinal Drive reported an incident of check fraud. Actor(s) fraudulently issued $4,973.00 in checks from accounts belonging to the business that were unauthorized.
October 25, 2013 11:40 a.m.
An individual reported his vehicle suffered criminal mischief while parked overnight in the 200 block of E. Broad Street. Actor(s) smashed the driver’s side mirror of his 2011 Ford van. No suspect(s) at this time.
October 26, 2013 3:51 p.m.
Shiraan T. Singleton, 31, of Roselle responded to Westfield Police Department to satisfy an active traffic warrant issued by the Westfield Municipal Court. Singleton was processed and released after posting $200.00 cash bail.
October 26, 2013 4:00 p.m.
A motor vehicle was reported stolen from a business in the 400 block of E. South Avenue. Patrol units checked the area with negative results. The vehicle was subsequently recovered on the same date in Newark along with the suspect.
October 26, 2013 10:13 p.m.
Joseph J. McGowan III, 36, of Lanoka Harbor was arrested on the strength of Westfield Municipal Court warrant #R 167686 in the amount of $500 at Garden State Parkway Exit 131 Colonia Rest Stop Area. McGowan III was then transported to Westfield Police Department, processed and placed into cell #2 in lieu of bail.
October 27, 2013 6:11 p.m.
A resident in the 200 block of Ross Place reported the theft of black “HTC Inspire” cell phone valued at $549.00. The theft is believed to have occurred between noon and 5:30 p.m. on October 25, 2013, from the victim’s residence.
October 28, 2013 1:48 p.m.
David Panayiotou, 23, of Manville was arrested on two outstanding traffic warrants, one out of Manville Boro Municipal Court ($500), and the other out of North Plainfield Municipal court ($100), at Westfield Police Headquarters. Panayiotou was processed and released on posted bail.

A resident of the 600 block of Prospect Street reports the burglary to the residence between the hours of noon to 9:30 p.m. No force was used to enter the residence. Once inside, actor(s) removed $60 in cash from a first floor hall table drawer. Actor(s) then proceeded upstairs to the master bedroom and rummaged through numerous dresser drawers and jewelry boxes. It is unknown to the resident if any additional items were taken at this time.

A resident of Folkstone Drive reported a burglary and theft of $55 cash from an unlocked vehicle. The incident occurred between 9:30 p.m. on October 28, 2013 and 6:15 a.m. on October 29, 2013.

Timothy Schetelich, 52, of Scotch Plains responded to Westfield Police Headquarters to satisfy a bench warrant issued by the Westfield Municipal Court ($114 bail). Schetelich was processed and released after posting the requisite bail.
