Improvements Discussed at Millburn Township Committee Meeting

MIILBURN, NJ - Various plans to make improvements around town were discussed at Millburn’s Township Committee Meeting on Tuesday night.

The Committee reported that a grant for $36,000 was received for various road improvements.

The Downtown Millburn Development Alliance (DMDA) proposed an updated budget for 2013 which will allow more improvements and promotions to bring more people downtown. Events will include Farmer’s Market, Girls’ Night Out, Restaurant Week, Snowflake Parade and a holiday event.  The group is looking to boost community involvement this year.

New banners are being produced and should be completed in the coming months to help inform people that Farmer’s Market we be located behind Town Hall.

Funds are planned to be available for visual improvements such as holiday lighting, signage and decorations to  add warmth to the holiday season.

Money will also be spent on sidewalk sweeping/maintenance and possibly the installation of more American flags in 2013.
