Honoring Our Bosses

Time to Get Organized

Tuesday, October 2, 2012 • 11:38am

It’s that time of year again when we honor our bosses who have done so much for us and have helped mentor us to become better employees. National Boss Day is on October 16, 2012 and people can show their appreciation to their boss’s by giving them a thank you card, flowers, a small gift, or even a lunch. Many offices and companies around the United States have shown appreciation for their boss’s on this day. National Boss Day has been a national holiday since 1958. This holiday was established to show employees the vigorous and strenuous work a boss has to deal with on an everyday basis.

Time to Get Organized offers these tips for National Boss Day. The first tip is to make a list at least once a week of what your highest priorities are. Set aside blocks of time where you don’t answer the phone, email, or do priority projects. No matter how busy you are your employee’s questions come first.

Time to Get Organized is offering a seminar called “The Perils with Being Your Own Boss” on Tuesday, October 16 from 9-11:30 a.m. The seminar will takes place at Fiddler’s Elbow, 811 Rattlesnake Bridge Road, in Bedminster, New Jersey. To register for the event go to http://myownboss.eventbrite.com. In honor of National Boss Day, business coach Lorette Pruden joins Amara to share time management and organizational wisdom with business owners and the self-employed.
