SUMMIT, NJ - Home for Good Dog Rescue (HFGDR), a 100% foster-based rescue located in Summit, has a new home that will enable it to save even more lives.  The upgraded facility in Berkeley Heights features more office space, a larger bathing, grooming and vetting area for transport days, and a retail area.

Home for Good rescues puppies and dogs who are facing euthanasia, then provides the best treatment for the animals by providing foster care, medical care, training, support and hope.  Through their Foster Program, each puppy and dog that is rescued is able to experience life with a family in a home.   Home for Good has a network of more than 50 families locally who help to care for the dogs and start them on their training.  Since their inception in August, 2010, HFGDR has rescued and adopted over 2,700 dogs into loving homes.

Renovation needs at the new facility were extensive, and HFGDR began promoting a capital campaign, entitled "Raise the Woof" capital in October, 2013, specifically for that purpose.  Proceeds made from grooming and retail purchases go back into the rescue to help Home for Good save another life.  Capital campaign donors can sponsored the rooms, photo tiles, engraved pavers, benches and kennels.

Also attached is a photo of a dog that is currently up for adoption through our website www.homeforgooddogs.org named Lilly. Lilly was on the list to be euthanized by the day's end at a south carolina kill shelter we visited in April. She was found as a stray, had obviously had a litter(s) of puppies and was underweight. She was scheduled to be euthanized due to a leg injury.
