Holman and Resto for Chatham Borough Council

Incumbents Len Resto and John Holman are exactly the kind of dedicated, innovative, hardworking Council members that Chatham Borough needs. They both absolutely deserve to be re-elected.
I have had the privilege, as a Borough volunteer, to work with both Councilmen. Councilman Holman is the Council liaison to the Chatham Borough Farmers’ Market. His smart, practical and innovative ideas have enhanced and enriched the Farmers’ Market. Councilman Resto is a pragmatic consensus builder. He serves as the Council liaison to the many “green” committees in town, including the Environmental Commission and the Green Initiatives Committee. He arrives early to meetings and is always ready to roll up his sleeves and help at a trail clean-up. His insightful analysis has enabled him to lead many terrific discussions after the films shown at the Library of the Chathams as part of the Eco Film and Discussion Series of the Chathams. His expertise in the workings of the Chatham Borough municipal government has been vital to Chatham Borough’s achievement of two Sustainable Jersey certifications: bronze in 2010 and silver in 2012; and in Chatham Borough’s 2012 sustainability awards, including the Grassroots Award and the Sustainable Jersey Champion Award for medium-sized municipalities.
Both Councilmen have worked hard during these difficult economic times to keep our taxes stable, through innovative initiatives such as shared services. Without these efforts, we would all be paying higher taxes for lower services.
Chatham Borough is lucky to have a long tradition of professional, top-quality, fiscally responsible Council members and Mayors – all of whom serve the Borough as volunteers. This tradition of excellent municipal public service is a huge factor in our wonderful quality of life.
Councilmen Resto and Holman continue this tradition. They deserve everyone’s vote on November 6.
