Hit And Run Accident Kills Pedestrian From Berkeley Heights

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ - Berkeley Heights resident Darin Cole, 43, was killed in a hit-and-run on Route 22 in North Plainfield on Saturday, Sept. 14, as reported by authorities.
Law enforcement officials are looking for a maroon vehicle with front end damage they believe fled the scene of this fatal accident Saturday night on Route 22 West near the intersection of Wilson Road, North Plainfield. The North Plainfield Police responded to a report of a man "leaning on the center barrier" and found Cole, "unresponsive and exhibiting injuries indicating he was struck by a vehicle."
Preliminary investigation reported that it appeared Cole was crossing the westbound lane heading toward the eastbound lanes when struck in the inner lane by a vehicle heading westbound that kept going.
