This past fall, the circa mid 1800's Saltbox Museum farmhouse, owned by the New Providence Historical Society, underwent a complete exterior paint job by a local painting contractor. The museum, once two separate small houses at different locations in town, is located at 1350 Springfield Ave., New Providence. This structure was located on the opposite side of Springfield Ave., and was moved, in the 1960's to it's present location my the newly founded historical society at that time. Come spring, the museum will be open on Sundays for tours. For information please call the society at (908) 665-1034. Side view of Saltbox shown in photo.
