Being B.I.G. is all about “women empowering women to do something in business” as founder Tara Gilvar said in the ">kickoff video back in 2009.  Now the B.I.G. (Believe. Inspire. Grow.) West Orange pod, ">founded by Jennifer Griola last year, is moving to day time as of Wednesday, June 27.

Meetings will be held every 4^th Wednesday, 9:30am -11:00am, at Luna Stage, 555 Valley Road, West Orange. All meetings will start and end on time to enable you to get the most out of your daily schedule. This meeting will be led by me, the new West Orange pod co-leader.

WHY YOU SHOULD ATTEND ON JUNE 27TH

Brand new B.I.G. West Orange pod member, artist and designer Gina Rivas-Velazquez, will kick-off the meeting demonstrating .be">her art on B.I.G. members. She helps companies create a brand image too, but on June 27 she will be showing off her body art capabilities. If you are planning to host a party this summer and want to do something special, you have to come see her in action. It’s amazing.

We will then move into our June topic, Speak and Be Heard: Polish Your Elevator Pitch. Whether you’re looking for a job or trying to garner more business you need a great elevator pitch. You know, what you will say in 30 seconds or less that describe who you are and what you offer, at the drop of a dime. This will be a fun, interactive and supportive way to practice your pitch, learn by hearing others, and pick up a tip or two.

Your first B.I.G. meeting is always free. This first day time meeting is free to all who are interested.

WHAT DOES B.I.G. IN WEST ORANGE DO FOR YOU?

You don’t have to live in West Orange to join. You have to want to either draw business or inspiration from those who live and/or work in West Orange.  You have to want to meet other women in a supportive environment. You have to want to get some tips and/or let people around you know you are looking for a new job, a career change, a life change, or new business.   

You will want to take advantage of going to other pods (chapters) and leverage the ability to meet hundreds of other women. Once you join one pod, your membership allows you to take advantage of all the other 30+ pods in New Jersey and beyond. It's a great way to meet new people in a non-threatening environment. It's like setting yourself up with dozens of potential warm leads and/or new friends instead of going out there trying to cold call and meet people at mixers and parties. Talk about networking; since membership is less than .55 cents a day, the only barrier is your time and effort.
