Tuesday, October 1, 2013 • 4:51pm
Hearts for Emma (http://www.heartsforemma.org), a 501(3)c pending NJ non-profit corporation, is having a gala fundraising evening featuring cocktails, dinner, live music from the high-energy party band Mission Dance, dancing and a silent auction, on Saturday, November 23rd, 2013 at the Westwood in Garwood, NJ.
Hearts for Emma was founded by Cranford residents Mark and Nancie Rothman after their daughter Emma received a lifesaving heart transplant at age 12. Hearts for Emma supports projects at New York-Presbyterian/Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital to help ease the burden for families who are caring for a child with cardiomyopathy, a potentially life-threatening heart condition. Hearts for Emma has provided meals to families whose child was a patient in the hospital’s cardiac intensive care unit, and there are several new projects currently being considered.
Hearts for Emma co-founder Nancie Rothman stated, “When our daughter received her heart transplant, we were so grateful to have had the support of our family and community to help us through what was the most difficult time in our lives. Hearts for Emma was founded to help us live every day with purpose and to give back. Our gala fundraiser will be a wonderful evening and a way to support a great cause. We invite anyone interested to contact us for information and tickets.” For information and tickets, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or visit www.heartsforemmea.org.
