Hatfield Man Charged With Alleged 3-Day Assault of Disabled Girlfriend, Police Say

A Hatfield Borough man is charged with the alleged assault of his disabled girlfriend over a three day period, according to The Reporter and Montgomery County court documents.
Daniel Phillip McCarthy, 51, of Diamond Street, faces two counts of misdemeanor simple assault, one count of misdemeanor reckless endangerment, two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of harassment, following a Thursday arrest and arraignment, per court records.
Police said McCarthy allegedly kicked and punched his girlfiend of seven years about seven times between Tuesday and Thursday. McCarthy allegedly targeted the woman's right side and her vaginal area in the alleged assaults, police said.
The alleged victim was able to escape the apartment Thursday and notify a neighbor to call 911, police said.
