FLORHAM PARK, NJ - A Florham Park non-profit organization will be constructing a haunted pathway throughout the month of October in hopes to expand on the aid its organization currently distributes, along with bringing people into the Halloween spirit.

Fright Factor, Florham Park’s ultimate haunted pathway, will feature three elaborately designed sets. The non-profit is reaching out to set design and other design related majors from local universities for internship opportunities. The initial structure will be built by mechanical engineer John Casolaro, and the interns will work with his pallet to construct one-of-a-kind set designs.

General admission is $10 and is located at 186 Ridgefield Avenue in the Chase Bank parking lot. All proceeds will go directly to Halos for Angels (HFA), a non-profit, apolitical organization dedicated to helping community members in times of hardship.

The duration of the fundraiser will run from Thursday until Sunday from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m., and opening early on Saturdays and Sundays for a kid-friendly maze and face painting, throughout the month of October.

Karen Casolaro, founder of HFA, found her passion for helping others after her own experience with breast cancer and the hospitality that her family received.

The community provided her family of seven with meals for two months after her double mastectomy. The hospitality drove her incentive to create a network within one year of her surgery where struggling families can contact for assistance.

“Each family has different needs, and [HFA] needs to be diverse in what we can provide.”

HFA provides emotional support, along with meals for two months. The organization also provides support for cancer survivors by helping them with wig shopping and has provided store vouchers for families going through hardships.

The organization has offered assistance to 15 families since its launch in 2010.

Inquiries related to the charity or to the Fright Factor maze can contact Karen at halosforangles@gmail.com. Donations for HFA can be sent to P.O. Box 415 Florham Park, NJ 07932.
