Habitat for Humanity Explained at Summit Old Guard Meeting
Tuesday, June 26, 2012 • 11:53am
Members of the Summit Old Guard will hear “why Habitat builds” at their July 10 meeting at 10 A.M. at the New Providence Municipal Center. The Reverend Jeremy Montgomery and Old Guard member, Joe Geist, will make their presentation about this widely spread organization. The name, Habitat for Humanity, is very positive, but few are aware why they build, how the build and what they seek to accomplish. The Reverend Montgomery is Executive Director of the Greater Plainfield Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Geist has worked on several Habitat for Humanity projects. They will give answers to the efforts made by this organization.
All area 50-plus active men are invited to attend meetings of the Summit Area Old Guard on Tuesday mornings at the New Providence Municipal Center at 360 Elkwood Avenue. A coffee hour starts at 9:15 that is followed by a 10 AM short business meeting. Old Guard members participate in sports, bridge, hikes, trips, plays, concerts and cultural events.
