Green Brook Man Shot to Death in Plainfield Wednesday

PLAINFIELD, NJ - Police are investigating the shooting death of a Green Brook man in Plainfield early Wednesday morning.
According to acting Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park, at approximately 5:33 a.m. Wednesday, a Plainfield police officer heard multiple gunshots fired in the area of Park Avenue and E. 9th Street in Plainfield. Arriving patrol units found Rashad Daye, 25, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Daye was pronounced dead later Wednesday morning at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
A joint investigation is being conducted by the Union County Homicide Task Force and the Plainfield Police Division. As of early Wednesday afternoon, no arrests had been made, and a motive for the shooting remained under investigation. Additional information regarding this case will be released as it becomes available.
