TRENTON, NJ - Governor Chris Christie has declared a State Of Emergency as of 9:21 p.m. Sunday, March 2. All state offices will be closed on March 3. Only essential employees should report.

Christie tweeted, "I ask all New Jerseyans(if possible) please stay off the roads so that first responders can safely respond to any emergency situations."

Snow and freezing rain are expected  Sunday evening  March  2 and into Monday, March 3.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for parts of Ocean, Monmouth and Mercer counties through Monday afternoon. A winter weather adivisory has been issued for most other counties.

According to Severe New Jersey Weather, it should be snowing in southern New Jersey by 10 p.m. This storm should then dump snow from Midnight through Monday afternoon and taper off by Monday night. Northern New Jersey should see the least snow, with significant-to-heavy snow in Central New Jersey and the jackpot hitting Southern New Jersey.

Police advise that some roads, including Hillcrest Road and Bonnie Burn Road, are subject to closure during the storm.

Expect delays and detours. You should not drive unless absolutely necessary to allow for quicker and more efficient snow removal.

Remove cars parked in the street to assist Public Works with snow removal, and remind your snow removal contractor that plowing snow from private property into the roadway is prohibited.
