BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - It was an action packed spring Saturday at Gov. Livingston with Baseball, Softball and Girls Lacrosse playing to the home crowd.

Gov. Livingston hosted the second Annual GL Showdown Tournament with the Lady Highlanders defending the Championship Title last Saturday.

Kacie Worswick went 3-for-4 with an RBI, Carolynne Goldbeck tripled and added two RBI and Taylor Hendrzak, Hayley Berliner and Madison Phillips each contributed two hits in the 8-5 victory over Madison.

"Our pitcher left some pitches up in the zone and Madison's hitters did a good job of making us pay for those mistakes.  They had some timely hitting," said Coach Mike Roof. "On our end, we finally had a couple innings where everything worked out for us.  We had some timely hitting, took advantage of some mistakes on their part, and were able to put together a couple big innings. Defensively we were able to clean up our act in the later innings and close out the game."

The Lady Highlanders lost, 7-4 to Watchung Hills, No. 15 in The Star-Ledger Top 20, in the Championship game.

Alex Foley finished 2-for-4 for Gov. Livingston while Carolynne Goldbeck scored twice.

Girls Lacrosse

Lindsay Gerrato scored six goals to lead Gov. Livingston over High Point, 19-7.

Erica Frezza and Julia Martin added five goals apiece, while Madeline Gerrato finished with three for Gov. Livingston.
