BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Newsweek has announced its rankings of more than 700 public, private, charter and magnet schools across the country, and Gov. Livingston High School comes in at No.176.

Newsweek used six indicators for its ranking methodology, its Daily Beast website said, to rank the 700 best high schools in the country. "We used six indicators pulled from school surveys to compare public high schools in the U.S., with graduation and college acceptance rates weighed most heavily. Other criteria included: college-level courses and exams, percentage of students with free or reduced lunch, as well as SAT and ACT scores - another mark of how well a school prepares students for college."

According to the ranking, Gov. Livingston High School had a 97.5 percent graduation rate and 95.9 percent of the students are "college-bound." The rankings showed average SAT and ACT scores for Gov. Livingston High School students were 1654 and 24.2, respectively, and 29 percent  enrolled in AP/IB courses, with  0.5 exams taken and an AP/IB exam pass rate of 83.90 percent.
