BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ -  Gov. Livingston Boys Soccer [11-3]  fell to Brearley [14-0] in the quarterfinal round of the Union County Tournament losing, 3-0, on Saturday, Oct. 19 at home.

"The 3-0 score is not indicative of the way the game was played.  We had some opportunities. Previous games we put our strength together and everything was going our way, but the tides have changed and we have to turn it back," said Gov. Livingston coach Bruno Somma. "The first time they came down and scored after we had the pressure on. The same thing happened [referring to second goal], we had the better play and they came back and scored."

Gov. Livingston did not get out played in this battle, they fought hard and fast.  "Today, they just could not find the net," said Somma.

The game was physical and three yellow cards were handed out.  Crucial penalties were missed within the box that could have changed "the tide" of the game for Gov. Livingston.

A late in the game foul gave Brearley a direct kick and the final goal of the game.

"The score didn't reflect how the game actually was, if you are just looking at the score you would assume it was a complete domination.  But it was an evenly matched game, we could not get that first goal in.  When we get the first goal in, then we keep getting them in. It didn't work out that way today," said Senior Chris Moran.
