BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - Garden of Eden is now open in Berkeley Heights, bringing fresh food and new jobs to the area.

Customers filled the parking lot of the new Garden of Eden Marketplace, and just as excited as their customers, store owner, Mustafa Coskun and his brother John gladly opened the doors to greet the customers as they entered the new marketplace on Friday.

Popular sections of the store include the fresh fruits and vegetables department, the bakery and fresh meals counter, and both the fresh seafood and meat markets stayed packed throughout the day.

Mayor Joe Bruno and Councilmen Bob Woodruff and Craig Pastore along with VFW Commander Walter Gloss and Shiloh Frampton gathered to welcome Coskun and bear witness to the new "culinary Mecca for savvy shoppers."

Not only will Garden of Eden provide the community with a fine food store, it has opened up job opportunities to local and neighboring residents.  Jobs are still available at all levels.

"Nice to have the shopping center now full," said Berkeley Heights Mayor Joe Bruno. "A testimonial to the vision of the Vicendese Family [original owners that developed Heritage Square]."

The 'Money Magazine Article' naming Berkeley Heights the #6 best small town to live in America was a decision factor for Coskun wanting this location said Bruno.

Including Berkeley Heights among the Garden of Eden locations along with SOHO, Brooklyn Heights, Union Square and Upper West Side -- "That is a testimonial to their development team and where they put locations in prestigious locations," said Bruno.

Garden of Eden is located in Heritage Square, 504 Springfield Avenue, Berkeley Heights.

Store hours Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
