BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ - According to store managers and owner, Garden of Eden Berkeley Heights store will be shutting their doors to their Berkeley Heights' store located at 501 Springfield Avenue as of close of business Thursday, July 31, 2014.  They have been studying the area market and looking at a number of business models for staying open, but the business has not been able to arrive at a sustainable plan.

According to store general manager Robert Rosa, “As a collective group, all of us who work in the store did everything we could to stay open.  We really tried.  I want all of our customers to know that their feedback, encouragement, and concern during these last three weeks meant a lot to us, and it’s something we’ll always remember.”

To clear out existing inventory until closing, Garden of Eden Berkeley Heights will be continuing its markdown on every item in the store by 20%.  No special memberships will be required to take advantage of the markdown, and it will be applied automatically at checkout.

"It is unfortunate to see a business not thrive in an environment that is full of potential," said Gay Hollowell, a Garden of Eden frequent shopper. "The community wishes them luck in their future endeavors."
