FREE, Supervised Open Gym Returns to Summit Community Center

Summit Department of Community Programs

Thursday, September 20, 2012 • 3:22pm

The Summit Community Center, located at 100 Morris Avenue is once again opening their doors to Summit’s kids in grades 3-8 who would like to use the Community Center Gym for open play. Residents who grew up in Summit, look fondly back at the days and nights that they spent “hanging out”, “shooting hoops” and “dancing” at the Rec! The Department of Community Programs is bringing back that Summit tradition big time! Each day after school, youth in Grades 3-5 can enjoy the gym on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 3:00 – 4:30 PM. Youth in Grades 6-8 are welcome on Tuesdays and Thursdays. On Friday nights, Grades 6 & up are welcome to use the facility from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM. The program is one of supervised, yet unstructured activities daily.

Parents should note that this is a Drop-In Program, not intended as child care. Although there is no fee, we ask that parents register online so we have all of your child’s information and we can email you with updates on events and schedules. Floor games, basketball, ping pong, knock hockey and other equipment is available. Not registered? No problem, we’ll take the information when you arrive.

Parents with questions are welcome to call the Summit Department of Community Programs at 908-277-2932. Registration is available by phone, in person and online 24/7 at  https://register.communitypass.net/summit
