Francis Byrne Golf Course Opens for Season on March 1 in West Orange

WEST ORANGE, NJ - – Essex County’s three public golf courses: Essex County Francis Byrne in West Orange, Essex County Hendricks Field in Belleville and Essex County Weequahic Golf Course in Newark – will open for the 2013 season beginning Friday, March 1st.
“We invite golfers to come out and test their skills on the challenging greens, picturesque fairways and unique historic features of our three public golf courses. Our facilities recently were upgraded with new cart paths, rebuilt tee boxes and greens, and improved drainage to enhance the playing experience and provide visitors with first-class conditions,” Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo said. “Golfers will be proud of our beautiful courses and amazed at how affordable it is to play close to home.”
Essex County Francis Byrne Golf Course is located on Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange. Weekday adult greens fees are $27 and weekend adult green fees are $31.
