Founder of Two Programs in Newark Speaks at Old Guard

Mrs. Pat Kettenring is a founder of two important programs in Newark. She started Flameworks in 2000. This is a beginning program in making decorative glass beads. She started another program in 2005 called Glassroots that provided instruction in glass blowing and sculpting.
Mrs. Kettenring has taught at the Rutgers Business School on starting and organizing all aspects of charitable organizations. She is currently in charge of a program for the Arts in Summit.
All area 50-plus active men are invited to attend meetings of the Summit Area Old Guard on Tuesday mornings at the New Providence Municipal Center at 360 Elkwood Avenue. A coffee hour starts at 9:15 that is followed by a 10 AM short business meeting. Old Guard members participate in sports, bridge, hikes, trips, plays, concerts and cultural events. Members will travel to Philadelphia in April to visit the newly designed Barnes Museum.
