MORRISTOWN, NJ - Although it’s 2014, people can still experience a working farm when they visit Foster Fields, 73 Kahdena Road, Morristown, New Jersey 07960.

According to the Foster Fields site, www.morrisparks.net/aspparks/ffmain.asp, in the mid-1800’s, General Joseph Warren Revere, grandson of Paul Revere, bought the land and built a house known as the Willows.

In 1881, Charles Foster bought the land and changed the name to Foster Fields.   Caroline Fields lived at this residence for 98 years.  In 1979 she left Foster Fields to the Morris County Park Commission.  As stated on the website, “Caroline wanted the farm preserved as a living historical farm.”

Friends of Fosterfields is a non-profit organization that supports and creates programs for Fosterfields Living Historical Farm.  Information about Friends of Fosterfields can be found at www.friendsoffosterfields.org.  Various events can be found on their website as well.
