Forensic Team Competes at Yale Speech and Debate Tournament

SUMMIT, NJ - The Summit High School Forensic Team enjoyed a very successful performance at the prestigious Yale Speech and Debate Tournament, placing several students, including several freshmen, in the elimnation rounds:
Doug Huneke and Jai Padalkar reached triple Octos in Public Forum Debate
James Badenhausen-quarter finals in Humorous Interpretation
Chris Melka-quarterfinals in Original Oratory
Sean and Keegan McManus- semi -finals in Duo Interpretation
Keenan Buckley won Third Place in Dramatic Interpretation
Drew Schwendiman won First Place in Original Oratory
Summit High School competed on the ivy-covered campus against 4,000 students from 237 schools and 36 states. Every one of Summit's 24 competitors improved his / her communication skills, not only by performing in at least five rounds, but by watching some of the most brilliant, talented students from around the country.
As one freshman put it, "Competing at Yale, with all of those smart, talented kids from all over, was one of best experiences of my life."
