For Berkeley Heights Resident Susan Torlucci, Nutrition Hits Home

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ – Berkeley Heights resident Susan Torlucci was a successful IT executive for 13 years working for an international container shipping company and then an IT consultant for five years. Today, she works full time educating the public about nutrition and marketing nutritional supplements. How did such a job transition take place? Because, for Susan Torlucci, nutrition hits home.
Torlucci was on antibiotics and OTC medicines for 12 years, suffering with allergies, sinus infections and bronchitis, which eventually progressed into two bouts of pneumonia. This was her life… a struggle to get through the day. During this time, she and her husband were trying to start a family and were unsuccessful for five years, consulting with three of the best fertility clinics in the Metropolitan area. Fortunately, without the help of conventional medicine, they were able to achieve pregnancy and ultimately had two daughters who are now 17 and 15 years old. Making some very simple dietary changes, she thought, may have helped them on the road to better health and to achieve pregnancy.
When her daughter Marisa was four years old, she had a severe ear infection and was prescribed antibiotics for three months, changing the particular medication every two weeks or so. Fearful that Marisa may be starting the same pattern of health struggles as her mother, Torlucci refused to continue the regimen. The antibiotics did not work and Marisa was in pain during those months. Torlucci asked the doctor for other suggestions. The doctor informed her about Juice Plus+, a whole food nutritional supplement containing 17 vine-ripened (pesticide-free) fruits and vegetables, which the doctor had also been taking for the past four years. With gold-standard, published clinical research behind the product, the doctor was confident with its integrity. Marisa began taking Juice Plus+ and her ear infection cleared up. “This influenced all changes in my life from that point forward,” Torlucci said. “Medicine should be a last resort, not the first option,” she added. Because of AMA protocol, Torlucci says that only if medicines do not work or patients refuse medicine can doctors provide other suggestions or advice.
Torlucci began a nutritional journey. She discovered that people need good nutrition, adequate sleep, and be able to manage their stress and that if they can balance these three aspects of life, they will lead healthier lives. Torlucci learned that there are many toxins in our world and pesticides and poisons in our food and became passionate about sharing her story and her knowledge with others.
She herself began taking Juice Plus+ nutritional supplements. Thinking there was little chance that her health would improve after so many years of pain and suffering, she remained skeptical for months. Yet, with the urging of her doctor, she continued even when she felt it was in vain. After 16 months or so, she was pleasantly surprised that her regular visits to the doctor had stopped. Allergies were no longer surfacing, she stopped all medications, and she began to feel “well”.
“It was a new beginning for me”, said Torlucci. “Friends asked me how our family avoided the flu that so many others suffered from every year. Children in grammar school often got sick, but our daughters remained healthy. It took a while for me to make the connection with our dietary changes and our continued good health. I spoke with my doctor who introduced us to Juice Plus+. I attended a seminar and learned about many others who experienced better health with simple changes and were working to educate others. It was during that time that I decided to help others as well.”
She believes that schools should do a better job of educating our youth about nutrition and related issues. “Everyone needs information so that they can make their own decisions rather than have the doctor make the decision for you,” she said.
Torlucci states, “Thirty years ago, cancer was not a common disease. So much has changed since then. Sadly, the powerful marketing of dangerous foods, beverages, skin products, cleaning products, and more are harming our health and the health of our children. We now live in a world of many diseases. Our generation does not yet have the tools necessary to dodge those diseases. Along with thousands of doctors and health professionals, I am working diligently to work our way back to living healthy, searching for and consuming organic foods and using organic products for our environment. It is truly an investment in the future of our children.”
“Very simply, our experience has helped us to see very c learly that we were not getting the nutrition we so desperately need on a daily basis. Our busy lifestyles make it difficult, but also because of poor growing methods and storage of our produce, we are buying expensive fruits and vegetables without the value of good nutrition. Go apple picking, peach picking or strawberry picking one day… and you will enjoy delicious fruit with good nutrition. Vine-ripening of fruits and vegetables is key to developing the proper nutrition in them. Juice Plus+ has helped us to provide balanced nutrition for our family for the past ten years. We will continue to supplement our diet with Juice Plus+ for life and to share it with others to help support good health.”
“I represent only those products that our family takes as well”, says Torlucci. “My greatest rewards are the testimonials given back to me from my clients. There’s no better feeling than knowing that I’ve made a positive difference in the lives of others.”
Torlucci currently attends health and wellness fairs and holds seminars on nutrition and the products she represents. For more information, please visit www.healthwithsusan.com or call 908-447-3851.
