Food and Wine Pairings for a Nice Winter Dinner

Do you ever wonder what wines should be paired with your meals?   As the full brunt of old man winter sets in here in South Plainfield, we asked Dan Ratti from Oak Tree Liquors to help pair two basic dinners with some wine suggestions.

Dan stated “Chicken Marsala is a very common wine pairing request”.  White wines such as Bliss Chardonnay, True Myth Chardonnay, Vista Pinot Grigio and light bodied red wines such as Grayson Pinot is well balanced, and matches well with Marsala based sauce.  With these pairings of wine and food, there will not be any one flavor overpowering the other.  The pairings will work to enhance both the food and drink. 

Another wine pair request is Beef Marsala.  For Beef Marsala a medium to full bodied wine would be a great compliment.  Some perfect wines would be Ranqueles Cabernet Sauvignon, Barr-Nunn Cabernet Sauvignon, BV Coastal Cabernet Sauvignon, Aromo Cabernet Sauvignon, Picos Malbec, Caoba Malbec, Adagio Toscana. The tannins(dryness) of these wines will assist in the breakdown of the proteins in the beef while the balanced fruit of the wine will still hold up to the full flavor of the meal.
