Flemington Fugitive Nabbed in New Providence

6-5-2012 – A Washington Township man reported that his cell phone was stolen from a Springfield Avenue
business while he was picking up food.
6-5-2012 – Patrolman Andrew Diamond arrested Austin Murphy, 21, of New Providence on an outstanding
warrant out of Jackson Township Municipal Court. Mr. Murphy was released after posting bail.
6-5-2012 – Patrols responded to the Spring Garden Apartments on Springfield Avenue on a report of criminal
mischief to a motor vehicle. A resident reported that at 10:21 PM, she observed two individuals wearing
sweatshirts and hoods begin striking her vehicle with objects causing significant damage. The suspect vehicle
fled the scene prior to patrols arrival. The detective bureau is actively investigating this incident. Any

6-7-2012 – Corporal Jason Labaska arrested Kwami Nyaku, 32, of New Providence on an outstanding warrant
out of Parsippany Municipal Court. The warrant was located during a motor vehicle stop on Ryder Way. Mr.
Nyaku was also issued a summons for operating a motor vehicle while his license was suspended. Mr. Nyaku
was released after posting bail.
6-11-2012 – A Clement Road resident reported the theft of two Adirondack Chairs from her front yard between
the dates of June 9 and June 11.
6-13-2012 – An Old Brook Lane resident reported the theft of a house number plaque and a brass light that lit
up the sign. The theft occurred sometime between June 12th and June 13th.
6-14-2012 – Patrols responded to South Street by Marion Avenue on a report that 13 year old female was
assaulted by another juvenile female while she was walking down the street. The victim reported that a juvenile
female and two juvenile males were walking behind her and began harassing her. She stated that she stopped
walking and the juvenile female punched her twice in the arm and once in the head. All juvenile involved were
released to their parents and the case has been forwarded to the juvenile officer.
6-16-2012 – Patrols responded to the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Diamond Hill Road on a report of a
telephone pole in the roadway and was on fire. Upon patrols arrival, it was determined that a motor vehicle had
crashed into the pole causing it to come down. The New Providence Fire Department and JCP&L responded to
the scene. Several pieces of evidence were retrieved by officers for the suspect vehicle. Any witnesses to this

6-17-2012 – Patrols responded to Mountain Avenue on a report of an individual attempting to flag down
passing motorists. Patrols located the individual who provided a conflicting account for his actions. The
individual also provided patrols with false personal information. Through investigation, it was determined that
the identity of the man was Lawrence Reilly, 42, of Flemington. Mr. Reilly had an active warrant out of Lehigh
County, PA. Mr. Reilly was charged as a fugitive from justice and was transported to the Union County Jail to
wait to be extradited to Pennsylvania.
6-18-2012 – Corporal Dennis Carovillano charged Salah Moner Fattah, 20, of Brooklyn with operating a motor
vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, no insurance, unregistered, displaying fictitious license plates, and
failure to use a turn signal. The charges stem from Corporal Carovillano observing the vehicle operating in
a careless manner on Mountain Avenue and the license plates on the vehicle returned to a different type of
vehicle.
