Five Marijuana Arrests in Madison in Last Two Weeks

On January 24, 2014 at approximately 1:30pm, Detective Ken Shannon arrested 50 year old Kenny Trosky of Morristown, NJ. Earlier that morning, the Madison Police received a report from a local establishment that Trosky had allegedly been using a credit card for the last several days that was believed to be stolen. During the investigation, Detective Lieutenant Dennis Lam and Detective Paul Kosakowski were able to locate Trosky nearby at the Madison Train Station. It was determined that Trosky was allegedly in possession of the suspected stolen credit card which he had allegedly used eleven times without the owners knowledge or permission. Trosky was charged with one count of Possessing a Stolen Credit Card and eleven counts of Unlawful Use of a Credit Card. He was lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.

 

On January 26, 2014 at approximately 9:30pm, Ptl. Christopher Williams arrested 20 year old Shane Sickles of Hopatcong, NJ. Williams, along with Sgt Sean Plumstead, stopped Sickles’ vehicle for an alleged moving violation. During the investigation, Williams detected an odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Sickles was allegedly found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Sickles was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.

 

On January 28, 2014, a resident of a Main Street Apartment complex in Madison reported that two of his bicycles were taken from his garage. The first bike is described as a Silver and Grey “TREK” with thin racing tires and handle bars that are curled under. There is a dark green pouch attached to the handle bars and a black pouch under the seat.  The second bike is described as a Champagne, Metallic colored “TREK” road bike with thicker tires.  The seat of the bike is light brown leather. On January 28, 2014 at approximately 11:00pm, Ptl. Bart Glab arrested 20 year old Rebecca Riley of Hillsdale, NJ. Glab, along with Sgt James Cavezza, stopped Riley’s vehicle for an alleged equipment violation. During the investigation, Glab detected an odor of raw marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Riley was allegedly found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. She was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also issued motor vehicle summonses for maintenance of lamps and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. Riley was released on her own recognizance pending a court appearance.

 

On January 30, 2014 at approximately 9:00 pm, Ptl Vincent Dellavalle arrested 18 year old Veronica Chmiel of New York, NY. Dellavalle stopped the vehicle in which Chmiel was a passenger for suspicion of purchasing alcohol underage. During the investigation, it was determined that Chmiel was allegedly in possession of alcoholic beverages as well as a fraudulent identification which she allegedly used to purchase the items. Chmiel was charged with Underage Possession of Alcohol and Underage Purchase of Alcohol. She was released on her own recognizance pending a court appearance.

 

On January 31, 2014 a patron of the Madison Stop & Shop reported that her wallet had been taken from her purse some time while she was at the establishment. Following the incident, the victim’s credit cards were used in several locations outside of Madison. There were no witnesses at the time of the incident. The investigation has been turned over to the Madison Police Detective Bureau. Anyone having information is asked to contact Det. Ken Shannon at 973-593-3004.

 

On January 31, 2014 at approximately 9:00pm, Ptl. Christopher Williams arrested 19 year old Samuel Ouimet of Chatham, NJ. Williams, along with Sgt Sean Plumstead, stopped Ouimet’s vehicle for an alleged moving violation. During the investigation, Williams detected an odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Ouimet was allegedly found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. He was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and was also issued motor vehicle summonses for failure to stop and failure to signal a turn. Ouimet was released on his own recognizance pending a court appearance.

 

On February 4, 2014 at approximately 11:45 pm, Ptl Vincent Dellavalle arrested 18 year old Selena Fennimore of Morristown, NJ. Dellavalle stopped Fennimore’s vehicle for an alleged moving violation. During the investigation, Dellavalle detected an odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Fennimore was allegedly found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and alcoholic beverages. She was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and underage possession of alcohol. She was also issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving, failure to exhibit a driver’s license, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a vehicle. Fennimore was released on her own recognizance pending a court appearance. A male juvenile who was also in the vehicle was released to a parent pending contact from the Juvenile Detective.

 

On February 7, 2014, two residents on Central Avenue reported that their vehicle’s had been intentionally damaged. On both occasions, the rear window of each vehicle had been shattered by an apparent icy snow ball. There were no witnesses at the time of the incidents. On February 7, 2014 at approximately 6:00 pm, Ptl Luis Goncalves arrested 48 year old Ivan Galan of Ridgefield Park, NJ. Goncalves was in contact with Galan regarding an unrelated incident when it became known that there was an active arrest warrant for Galan from the Morristown Police Department in the amount of $1,000. Galan was transferred over to the Morristown Police Department pending a court appearance.

 

On February 8, 2014 at approximately 12:30am, Ptl. Bart Glab arrested 18 year old Camille Nadon-Tasse of New Providence, NJ. Glab responded to the campus of Drew University along with Sgt. James Cavezza and Ptl. Vincent Dellavalle on report of a student in custody for an alleged drug related incident. Tasse was allegedly found to be in possession of marijuana, a digital scale, packaging materials, and other related drug paraphernalia. Tasse was charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on her own recognizance pending a court appearance.

 

The following are some of the calls for service that the Madison Police Department handled during the past two weeks: 30 Motor Vehicle Crashes, 47 Medical Calls, 29 Alarm Calls, 13 Animal Complaints, 24 Assist Citizen Calls, 10 Motor Vehicle Lockouts, and 10 Calls to assist another Police Agency.

 

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
