Parsippany, NJ – Eric J. Barr, CPA/ABV/CFF, CVA, CFE, co-managing member Fischer Barr & Wissinger LLC, and director of the firm’s Business Valuation and Litigation Support Department has been appointed to serve on the Editorial Board of The Value Examiner ®  - an independent, professional development journal dedicated to the exploration of value and its ramifications for consultants. It contains timely, technical, in-depth articles written for consultants by practitioners and academics at the top of their respective fields. The distinguished authors bring expertise acquired from years of training and experience to bear upon topics both practical and theoretical.

Each issue of The Value Examiner contains substantive, peer-reviewed articles—drawn from a spectrum of consulting disciplines: Business Valuation, Forensic Accounting, Mergers and Acquisitions, Fraud Risk Management, Business and Intellectual Property Damages, Healthcare Consulting, Exit Planning, and Practice Development.

Eric has written three articles for the Examiner in 2012 (in the Jan/Feb, Sept/Oct, and Nov/Dec issues), most recently on pass-through entity valuation.

The primary responsibility of Board membership is to participate in the peer review process. This means reviewing at least four manuscripts per year, or otherwise making a meaningful contribution to the review process.  Additionally, Members should be ambassadors for the publication and attempt to identify article topics and potential authors.  Board Members are required to serve a two year term.

Eric has more than 40 years of public accounting experience and is a national thought leader and frequent public speaker in connection with the valuation of S Corporations, Partnerships and Limited Liability Companies, which are collectively known as pass-through entities.  Eric has conducted seminars on the valuation of pass-through entities to the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants; presented a national webinar for BV Resources; and has written several articles for The Value Examiner.  Eric has testified as an expert in the areas of business valuation, commercial litigation, forensic accounting and lost profits analysis.

Eric is a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA), the NJSCPA Litigation Services and Accounting & Auditing Interest Groups, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

He holds the following Licenses/Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (New Jersey and New York), Accreditation in Business Valuation, Certified in Financial Forensics, a Certified Valuation Analyst and a Certified Fraud Examiner.
