Feb. 22: Event on Gun Violence at International HS

PATERSON, NJ - 2nd Ward resident Georgia Daniel will be hosting "Why I Want Gun Violence to Stop!" event at International High School on Fri., Feb. 22 from 1-3 pm.
The program will advocate for universal background checks to reduce gun violence in our community.
Event organizers say the purpose is to educate young people on the impact of gun violence in our community, to organize them to support stronger gun laws, and to identify ways for young people to take charge in promoting awareness within their schools and neighborhood on stopping gun violence.
Some of the actions/tactics students will engage in will be to create posters, writing essays, letters to the editor and contacting their legislative representatives.
The event is open to the public, according to school board member Corey Teague.
