FDU Professor Shoots Wife, Commits Suicide in Parsippany

PARSIPPANY, NJ - Acting Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp announced Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 29, that Chester Andraka, 46, an adjunct professor at FDU, committed suicide on Monday, and after killing his wife, Rosaria Andraka, 43, at their residence located at 2 Medford Road in Parsippany, New Jersey. The findings were made following an investigation and autopsies conducted by the Morris County Medical Examiner.
On Monday, Parsippany Police, after receiving a telephone call from Chester Andraka’s place of employment, forcibly entered their locked home after seeing a body on a couch through a window.
Chester Andraka was a former Caldwell police officer and also worked for Novartis on security issues.
Acting Prosecutor Knapp thanked Chief Anthony DeZenzo and the Parsippany Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Section, the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office and members of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office who assisted in this matter.
