Fashion Show to Support Two Local Beneficiaries
Saturday, November 30, 2013 • 2:29pm
SPARTA, NJ- There will be an evening of "Fashion, Food, Dance and Giving Back" on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. at Forno Italiano restaurant in Sparta. The fashion show is the culmination of ongoing fundraising for two beneficiaries; the Evin Muse family and Sussex County Women's Forum. Several local businesses have joined together to donate time, money, and services to cover the cost of promoting and hosting this charity event. They are also set up to receive donations prior to the event.
The Sussex County Women's Forum is a non-profit organization established to support and assist women and their families, who have been affected by breast cancer. They are dedicated to providing early detection, offering support and resources after a diagnosis and guidance and companionship as women regain their health. Director and Founder Mare Galeos explains on their webpage, “As a Sussex County resident for seven years, I have found myself surrounded by women with breast cancer. I’ve stood by and watched the toll it takes on family and friends. This has made me seriously question how best I could help.”
“It’s is my hope that the SCWF will continue to grow into an organization capable of assisting all women of Sussex County and surrounding communities whose lives are impacted by a cancer diagnosis.”
Evin Muse is a young Sparta boy who has been stricken with bone cancer. The diagnosis was made after the active, seemingly healthy nine year-old broke his leg in a minor trampoline accident in the back yard. Testing after the accident revealed a tumor above his knee and led to a devastating diagnosis of bone cancer, osteosarcoma. It has been nearly a 18 months since the diagnosis and treatments.
The sponsors of the event are Onore Clothing, PB&J Stores, Forno Italiano, Realty Executives, Golden Castle Jewelers, Mancuso Salon & Spa, Salon Serendipity, Clear Channel Radio’s WNNJ, Vostit Video Email, Auto Client Care, and George Crescione of Deli TV Displays. Lakeland Bank has made a direct donation to the Sussex County Women’s Forum as their participation in this event.
Onore Clothing and PB&J Stores have partnered to dress an impressive group of local handsome men and beautiful women who will model fashions from both stores in the show. Jewelry for the outfits will be provided by Golden Castle Jewelers, and all hair and makeup will be styled by Salon Serendipity and Mancuso Salon & Spa.
Some of the local male models include George Crescione, Alan Rosolen, Alex Aguro, Ray Cordts, CJ Hagan, Pierre Trudel and Len Salvatore.
"I am looking forward to this great charity event and giving back to those in need in our community," according to Len Salvatore.
The show takes place in the Forno Italiano dining room where there will be complimentary food from their kitchen, a cash bar along with music and dancing. At the end of the show, the party continues downstairs at Forno’s Inferno Lounge with Salsa lessons and dancing.
Model Pierre Trudel said, "my wife and I look forward to the event. It is a great opportunity to support a good cause while having fun!'
All of the donations collected by the sponsoring businesses will be given to the two beneficiaries. Participants may choose to donate to either of the charities or make separate donations to both charities. Checks should be made payable to “The Evin Muse Family” or to “SCWF”. Cash donations are welcome as well, along with a charity designation.
”It will be a great night to get together as a community and support two very important causes. We hope you can all see the importance in what we are doing so stop by and show your support so we can achieve all of our goals" according to George Crescione another volunteer model.
Everyone will walk away with a complimentary Swag Bag filled with goodies. Various sponsors have donated gift ‘swag’ bags and door prizes for the guests. Donors are automatically entered to win door prizes. Among the prize are a $1,000 men's custom suit, $100 gift certificate to PB&J, $100 gift certificate to Onore's.
