FANWOOD, NJ -- More than 200 crafts, food and informative exhibitors, along will rides for the kids and live music, will be at the Fanwood Street Fair on Sunday, June 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free parking is available in the municipal lots off LaGrande Ave. and on the north side of the train station for the festival, which takes place along South Ave., just west of Martine. The annual street fair is sponsored by the Fanwood Business & Professional Association.
After you've gotten your fill of funnel cakes and crafts, just a short walk away the Fanwood Library will host a concert, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m., featuring Reckon So. The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Fanwood Memorial Library.
Led by guitarists and vocalists Danny Weiss, the library's director, and Mary Olive Smith, Reckon So delivers a high-energy engaging mix of bluegrass, honky-tonk, western swing, traditional roots country and Americana music. This performance will begin with special music for the younger crowd, followed by another full set. Sparkee, the Somerset Patriots mascot, will also be in attendance.
“Bring a chair, a blanket, a picnic, your kids and your neighbors and have a great afternoon of music and family fun at the library,” suggests Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr. “I look forward to seeing you there!”
