Fanwood Poetry Reading with Ken Ronkowitz, Oct. 16

The Carriage House Poetry Series invites the public to attend a free event on Tuesday, October 16, at 8:00 p.m. in the Kuran Arts Center on Watson Road, off North Martine Avenue, adjacent to Fanwood Borough Hall. (GPS use 75 N. Martine Avenue). The featured reader will be the distinguished poet Ken Ronkowitz, a lifelong New Jersey resident.
An educator for many years, Ken Ronkowitz has taught in public schools and at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Mr. Ronkowitz has been the editor of PoetsOnline.org (a monthly online poetry magazine and web site for poetic inspiration) since 1998. His poems have been published in English Journal, Beloit Poetry Journal, Paterson Literary Review, Roadmap, Prague and the anthology, The Paradelle. He has worked with the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation on poetry projects in New Jersey and he is the recipient of a two Dodge Foundation Writing Grants.
Ken is a member of the Advisory Board for the Passaic County Cultural & Heritage Council and he has been a volunteer educator for the past 30 years in the New Jersey Non-Game and Endangered Species Program. Since 2008, he has been the Director of Writing at Passaic County Community College and is an adjunct professor at both PCCC and NJIT.
The Carriage House Poetry Series is in its fourteenth year at the Patricia Kuran Arts Center, an historic Gothic Revival structure that was once a 19th century carriage house, hence the name of the series. The October 16th reading is free and open to the public. An open mic will follow the featured performance.
